Ayden Scheim is Senior Scholar of Public Policy at the Williams Institute at UCLA Law. His research uses intersectional and participatory approaches to assess the health consequences of interpersonal and structural stigma among sexual and gender minority populations in the US and globally. He leads studies to develop and validate intersectional measures of stigma and discrimination, including the development and ongoing evaluation of the Intersectional Discrimination Index. A social epidemiologist by training, Ayden was previously an Associate Professor of Epidemiology and taught graduate courses in survey research methods.
